Steven Vanboven

Steven VanBoven, 83, Stiles, died Friday morning, May 17, 2024 at a Manitowoc health care facility.  He was born November 29, 1940 in Lena to Clarence and Lillian (Gomney) VanBoven.  Steve grew up in Stiles where he attended grade school before graduating Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1959.  Following graduation, he worked at Bond Pickle in Oconto and for 14 years at Frigo Cheese in Lena.  Steve was then employed at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee for 32 years and after retiring, he worked at Gillett Canning.  At one time, he was a member of the Sno-Jokers snowmobile club in Oconto Falls.  Steve had a long and lasting relationship with Bobbie Olshesky for 35 years and together they enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and family, going to the casino and dining out.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Clarice (Hollis) Stib and loving and special friend Bobbie Olshesky on July 11, 2022.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Friday, May 24, 2024 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Sherwin Parmar officiating.  Burial will follow in Town of Stiles Cemetery.
