Shirley J. Fredrickson

Shirley J. Fredrickson, 91, formerly of Oconto Falls, died Friday, August 9, 2019 at Rocky Knoll Care Center in Plymouth. The youngest of two daughters of Lovel and Mayme (Muck) Bunn was born July 19, 1928. Shirley grew up in the area, graduating from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1946. She worked for the Oconto Electric Cooperative.

On June 20, 1959 she married Alan E. “Fred” Fredrickson at the Oconto Falls United Methodist Church. The couple owned and operated the Fredrickson family farm until 1989. Shirley served as the Town of Stiles Treasurer, volunteered as a 4-H leader and was active in the Oconto County Homemakers and Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active and longtime member of the Oconto Falls United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir.

Survivors are her one daughter, Lynn (John) Helmer, Plymouth; two grandchildren, Andy and Erica Helmer; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2008, two infant children, Deborah and John, and one sister, Marvel (Harry) Magill.

Visitation with the urn present will be held after 11am Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Oconto Falls United Methodist Church until the time of service. Memorial services will be held 12 noon at the church with Pastor Dave Henke officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
