Rosella Laverne Greetan

Rosella Laverne Greetan, 83, Oconto Falls, died Thursday, February 6, 2025. She was born December 31, 1941 in Oconto Falls to George Laverne and Lila Mae (Hodgins) Diedrich. Rose grew up in Gillett, where she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Esther and Carl Wilke.

She married Darryl Greetan Sr. December 28, 1963 in Gillett. While he served in the military, they lived in Texas, and eventually returned to Oconto Falls to raise their two children, Crystal and Darryl.

Rose was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish. She was a machine operator for Pulaski Shoe Factory, and also later worked for Elliott Glove, Piggly Wiggly, and Ben Franklin. She made friends with many wonderful people throughout her retail career.

More than anything, Rose loved to spend time with and watching her grandchildren. She also looked forward to watching future great grandchildren. She will be remembered as helpful and friendly toward all.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Crystal (Mark) Podoski of Oconto Falls; son, Darryl (Tonia) Greetan of Oconto Falls; four grandchildren, William Podoski, Lindsey, Natalie and Jackson Greetan; a very special niece, Laura Ankerson; sister, Linda DeHut of Oconto Falls; and brother, George (Mary) Diedrich of Oconto Falls.

Preceded by her parents, George and Lila; husband of 61 years, Darryl; three brothers, Elmer, Gordon, and Elroy; and two sisters, Gloria Nellis and Sharon Ankerson.

A prayer service for family and friends will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Jones Funeral Service. Burial will take place at St. Anthony Cemetery in Oconto Falls.
