Richard William Helstad

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Helstad, beloved husband, father, grandfather on Wednesday, May 29th at the age of 92.

Dick was born on March 6th to William & Palma Helstad in LaCrosse, WI. He was raised in Ettrick & Taylor, WI where he graduated from Taylor HS. He attended UW-Madison and graduated from the School of Pharmacy (Class 1954).

He married Carol Bramschreiber, June 11, 1955 and served in the US Air Force (1955-1957) as a Captain. He owned and operated Helstad Drug Store in Oconto Falls for 34 years until his retirement in 1996. Dick enjoyed family, golf, his cars and puttering in his lawn and garden.

Dick is survived by his wife Carol of 69 years; four children and five grandchildren. Bryan Helstad, Kyle & Lindsey, Boulder, CO; Brett & Mary Helstad, Henry & Logan, Danville, CA; Chris & Catherine Helstad, Hannah & Scott, Mendota Heights, MN; Carey & Myron Baranczyk, Suamico, WI.

Per Dick’s wishes a private family service will be held at Grace Lutheran church. A celebration of his life is planned for later this summer.
