Paul Maederer, 70, Abrams, died Thursday morning, January 30, 2020 at home following chronic heart failure. He was born September 7, 1949 in Milwaukee to Carl and Eileen (Giuliani) Maederer. Paul grew up in Milwaukee and attended John Marshall High School. As a young man, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served in Vietnam.
On June 27, 1970 he married Barbara Boettcher in Milwaukee. The couple lived in Milwaukee until moving to Abrams in 1975. Paul was employed as a mechanic for J & W Trucking in Green Bay for many years. He also had his own landscape and lawn care business for over 20 years. Paul also helped out at Northwood’s Power in Stiles which he enjoyed helping Dan. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Stiles and would assist in doing maintenance whenever he could.
Survivors are his wife of almost 50 years, Barb Maederer, Abrams; two sons, Mike (Jessica) Maederer, Howard; Chris (Ashley) Maederer, Abrams; seven grandchildren, Autumn Spencer, Zoe, Ava and Lillian Maederer, Lucy, Marvin and Walter Maederer; one brother, Bruce (Ellie) Maederer, OR; one sister-in-law, Geri Maederer, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Jason “AJ” in 2008 and one brother, Steven.
Visitation will be held 3-7pm Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Visitation will continue after 9:30am Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Stiles until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Joel Sember officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
