Patricia “Patty” Curran

March 17, 1944 — January 5, 2024

Patricia “Patty” Curran, 79, Green Bay, died Friday evening, January 5, 2024.  Born March 17, 1944 in Green Bay, she was the 8 th child of 12 born to Loy (Aloysius) and Agatha (Goggins) Zambrowicz.  Patty grew up in DePere where she graduated from Green Bay’s St. Joseph’s Academy.

Patty met the love of her life in October 1966 where she accepted Pat’s proposal on their second date just 4 days after their first blind date and on June 24, 1967 she married Patrick Curran at St. Boniface Catholic Church in DePere beginning their adventure of 56 years together.  Because of her husband’s military career in the US Air Force the world became her canvas/quilt. The couple lived in many places around the world including North Carolina, Germany, Ohio and Upper Michigan.  Patty’s spirit touched many and she gained numerous lifelong friends.  None more so than her “adopted sister” and best friend Sylvia Everette, oh the story’s that could be told.  Following their military obligations, Pat and Patty returned to Green Bay where they belonged to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Anyone who took the opportunity to get to know Patty knew her to be incredibly kind, generous, and loving. As many know, Patty was an avid quilter.  To say that no matter where they were in their travels there was not a safe quilt shop within 100 miles, to say it lightly!

Patty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (“Grand Ma C”), and sister.  Her family include her husband and best friend for 56 years, Patrick “Pat” Curran; their two children, Sheila and Mark Baeten and (Patrick) “Sean” and Kirsten Curran; three grandchildren, Annika (Cody) Baeten Comer, Emma and Ryan Curran, her siblings Larry (Sharon) Zambrowicz, Jack Zambrowicz, Jerry Paul (Rose Mary) Zambrowicz, Ann (Mark) Lampereur, Colleen Gerbers, Betty Rose (Denny) Aerts; sisters-in-law, Katheleijne and Mary Zambrowicz, Ruth Curran; brothers-in-law, Tom Pigeon, Ron (Joan) and Bill (Roseanne) Curran; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Sister Helen Zambrowicz, Loy and Dick Zambrowicz, Mary Sue (Bill) Massey, Kathleen Pigeon and brothers-in-law Doug and Larry (Marie) Curran.
