Naomi S. Block, 95, Shawano formerly of Gillett, died Wednesday morning, October 25, 2023 at The Cottages in Shawano. She was born March 27, 1928 on the family farm in rural Gillett to Eric and Amanda (Zemke) Peterson.
On August 21, 1948 she married Adolph “Cookie” Block. The couple lived in the Gillett area for all their married lives where she was once employed as a bookkeeper for Gillett Feed Mill and later Gillett Implement. Naomi was a longtime and active member of Faith United Lutheran Church near Gillett.
Survivors are her four daughters, Karen (Tom) Carlson; Marilyn “Sue” (Walt) Thompson; Gayle (Scott) Pratt; Corrine (Jamie) Young; eight grandchildren, Steve Pratt, Nathan (Katie) Carlson, Nick Pratt, Brooke (Jordan) Schroeder, Erika (Mike) Farina and Jessica (Drew) Faude, Alex and Sydney Young; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jeanette Peterson-Keelam.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cookie in 2013 and one brother Robert Peterson.
Visitation will be held at Faith United Lutheran Church, 11465 Old U Rd., Gillett, WI after 9:00 AM Friday, November 3, 2023 until the time of service. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the church with the Rev. John Laatsch officiating. Burial will follow in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls is serving the Block family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorials may be made to Faith United Lutheran Church.
