Myrtle M. Van Laarhoven, 98, Oconto Falls, died Tuesday evening, September 4, 2018 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Oconto Falls with family present. She was born October 17, 1919 in North Dakota to George and Mable (Runk) Keith.
On September 21, 1939 she married Adrian Van Laarhoven in Coleman. Myrtle lived in rural Lena for most of her life and was once employed at Frigo Cheese. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Lena. Myrtle will be fondly remembered as a fabulous cook who loved to prepare meals for her family.
Survivors are her four children, Linda Urbaniak, Peshtigo; Dean (Judy) Van Laarhoven, Greenville; Ann (Terry) Hegeman, Suamico; Don (Grace) Van Laarhoven, Lena; two daughters-in-law, Donna Van Laarhoven, Billings, MT; Mary Martin, Marion; 18 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Adrian in 1991, two sons, Dennis and David, one daughter Mary Van Laarhoven, two brothers, Hank and George Keith and three sisters, Iletta Heckendorf, Dorothy Yarwood and Vi McDougal and son-in-law, Allen Urbaniak.
Visitation will be held 2-6pm Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Visitation will continue after 9am Monday, September 10, 2018 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Lena until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Monday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Felix Abano officiating. Burial will follow in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Lena.
The Van Laarhoven family would like to thank Dr. Genadi Maltinski and the wonderful staff at Atrium Post Acute Care for their many years of care and concern shown Myrtle, especially in her final days.
