Merlin R. Nass

Merlin R. Nass, 89, Oconto Falls, died Wednesday evening, July 31, 2024 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay following a short illness.  He was born June 14, 1935 in the Town of Green Valley to John and Lydia (Olson) Nass.  As a young man, he served in the US Army during the Korean War.  On May 5, 1962 he married Rozelda Edmonson at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gillett.  Merlin worked for Scott Paper in Oconto Falls for a short time and later for G & S Sand & Excavating for many years before retiring in 1992.  He was a member of the Oconto County DAV Chapter #45.

Survivors are his three children, Sheila Smet, Steven Nass and Timothy Gilbertson; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rozelda on January 3, 2024, one daughter Debbie Nass, three brothers and six sisters.

Private graveside services will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
