Mark "Puppy" Guelig

August 20, 1955 — March 4, 2025

Oconto Falls

Mark A. Guelig, 69, Oconto Falls, formerly of Farmington, MN, died of unexpected health complications on March 4, 2025. Mark grew up on a dairy farm in the township of Stiles, and was a graduate of the Lena High School Class of 1973. He thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with his classmates and attending class reunions.

Mark was a beloved partner to Trish Martin, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Equally as important, he was a key shenanigans instigator, a hunting partner that never revealed a favorite spot, a valued teammate in darts, softball, and bowling leagues, and the friend everyone knew they could count on during good and bad times. He perfected his infamous Puppy Pizza recipe, which he loved to serve to friends, family, and the neighbors Trish made him befriend. Mark met his lifetime partner, Trish Martin, in 2000. Trish and Mark spent many happy years together adopting cats, traveling on their Harley Davidson motorcycles, visiting family, and playing pranks on one another.

While an obituary will never fully capture Mark's love of family, friends, Harley Davidsons, guns, and recreational activities, all who knew Mark knew the infamous twinkle in his eye meant he was ready with a story and up for an adventure. He was always ready to relay his escapades and often had to be reminded that his revelries at Sturgis should not be shared when in company of minor children. Mark was incredibly proud that he had seen all 49 states on his bike and that he earned two Iron Butt certified rides in 2004 and 2009. Mark was a featured author and photographer in the May/June 2001 publication of the Hog Tales magazine, where he had the space to share his images of America, his journey with his friend and friend's son, and touching moments throughout their travels.
