Manfred “Fred” Maass, 76, Oconto Falls, died suddenly Monday afternoon, June 28, 2021 at Bellin Health, Oconto Hospital following a traffic accident. He was born October 9, 1944 in Germany to Hans (Wilma) Maass. As a young man he moved to the United States with his family and settled in the Chicago area and attended school. As a young man, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. On July 18, 1970 he married Anna Pfeiffer in Chicago. Fred lived and worked as a machinist in the Chicago area before moving to the Oconto Falls area in 1980.
Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Anna Maass, Oconto Falls; their one son, Eric (Katy) Maass, DePere; his brothers and sisters, Dieter (Pat) Maass, Oconto Falls; Wilfred Maass, Shawano; Hans (Debbie) Maass, Plainfield, IL; Ingrid (Tom) Burke, Shawano; Gisela (Ted) Peterson, Gilllett; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Peter Maass and Manfred Weise.
Visitation will take place 1:00 until 4:00 pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls.
