Judy Rymer, 82, Oconto Falls, died Monday, December 25, 2023 at a Green Bay area care center. She was born March 21, 1941 in Rockford, IL to Colin and Phoebe (Trittin) McMullen. Judy graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School with the class of 1959 and went on to attend UW-Eau Claire. As a young women, she moved to Green Bay where she was employed at Kellogg Citizens Bank for five years where she would meet her future husband.
On May 23, 1964 she married Leland “Lee” Rymer and the couple soon after moved to Oconto Falls where they would reside for most of their married lives. In 1973, Lee and Judy started Rymer Real Estate where Judy worked as secretary. Over the years, she was a member of the Oconto Falls Women’s Club, volunteered for the American Red Cross as well as St. Vincent DePaul and was an election poll worker where she served as chief inspector. As an avid bridge player, she was instrumental in forming Bridge Marathons which benefited the local hospital and library. As a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, she once sang in the church choir and served on the parish cemetery committee. As a longtime member of River Island Golf Club, she once served as ladies league president and treasurer.
Survivors are her husband of 59 years, Lee Rymer; their two children, Jill (Tim Armstrong) and Michael (Holly) Rymer; four grandchildren, twins Sophia and Julian, Ella and Haley; one sister, Nancy Hunkel; three nephews, Chris, David and Pete Hunkel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Colin “Butch” McMullin, one brother-in-law David Hunkel and her in-laws, Morris and Norine Rymer.
Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service. A prayer service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Anthony Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
