John Schindel

John Schindel, 66, Green Bay, formerly Denmark, died Thursday evening, November 23, 2023.  He was born July 6, 1957 in Oconto Falls to August and Irene (Heitke) Schindel.  John attended Oconto Falls Public Schools where he graduated high school and later attended NWTC.

John lived most of his life in the Denmark area where he was self-employed as a surveyor.  He worked for Brown County in the property mapping department, and also Watermolen Surveying.  He issued land-use permits for the local township in Kewaunee County, and did volunteer work at the Wildlife Sanctuary.  John loved working in the outdoors where he gardened, grew fruit trees and raised beef cattle and rabbits.

Survivors are his five siblings, Calvin Schindel; Keith (Dorene) Schindel; Grace Schindel; Diane (Harlan) Hansen; James (Cindy) Schindel; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Anna Holloway and infant brother Dennis Schindel.

Visitation with the urn present will be held after 9:30 AM Monday, December 4, 2023 at Tabor Methodist Church in Gillett until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the church.
