Debbie Slatky, 65, Spruce, died Christmas morning, December 25, 2021 at home with her family present, following an acute illness with cancer. She was born May 7, 1956 in Marinette to Cyril and Alice (Fetterly) Vizelka. Debbie grew up in the Spruce area and attended Oconto Falls Public Schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1974.
On February 15, 1975 she married Kenny Slatky in Klondike. The couple lived in the Town of Spruce most of their married lives where they owned and operated a family farm. Debbie also once worked at Springside and Saputo cheese factories and most recently, Unlimited Services in Oconto. She was a member of the National Mutual Benefit fraternal organization. Debbie enjoyed ceramics, arts and crafts as well as following the Green Bay Packers. She also loved to travel with her husband and best friends, Jerry and Jill Wendt and most recently the couple traveled to Niagara Falls.
Survivors are her husband of 47 years, Kenny Slatky, Spruce; their two sons, Tom (Carrie) Slatky, Lena; Kevin (Shannon) Slatky, Spruce; four grandchildren who she dearly loved, Ariel and Wyatt; Tyler and Brandon; her four siblings, Lynn Vizelka, Oconto Falls; Joe Vizelka, Lena; Bruce Vizelka, Green Bay; Susie (Scott) Herzog, Pound; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Norm (Shirley) Slatky, Appleton; Alan Slatky, AL; good friends, Ed and Connie Stodola; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Gary Vizelka and in-laws, Frank and Viola Slatky.
Visitation will be held after 10:00 am Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of services. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home with family friend Bill Tisch officiating. Cremation will follow.
Everyone attending is encouraged to dress casual in their Packer gear.
