Danny Pagel

Daniel “Danny” Pagel, 63, Spruce, was born to eternal life Monday evening, June 6, 2022 at St. Clare Memorial Hospital ER.  He was born October 5, 1958 to Leslie and Jeanette (Smith) Pagel Sr.  Dan attended Spruce School and graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1977.

On July 23, 1977 he married Marie Alsteen at St. Charles Catholic Parish in Lena.  The couple purchased the Pagel family farm in the Town of Spruce, raised their five children on it, instilling a strong work ethic in them and have continued to own and operate it.  As a matter of fact, Dan had just come into the house after a long day of planting when his death came suddenly.

Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Marie Pagel; their five children, Erica (Bill) Maedke, John (Angie) Pagel, Laura (Andy) Rowell, Kristin Woodard and James Pagel; 11 grandchildren, Hannah, Eleanor and William Maedke, with one on the way; Ethan, Max and Emma Pagel; Michael, Benjamin and William Rowell; Isabelle and Clayton Woodard; his mother, Jeanette Pagel; two brothers, Randall and Brian (Dan Johnson) Pagel; two sisters, Sandra (Don) Shave and Amy (Tom) Vanden Langenberg; sister-in-law, Margaret Pagel; mother-in-law, Geri Alsteen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sue (Kevin) Gammill, Carrie (Sharon Hart) Alsteen, Shannon (Paul) Halverson; outlaws, Jason, Fred, Maureen and Craig; two grand-dogs, Clark and Turtle; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Sr., infant granddaughter Sarah Bea Meadke, one brother, Leslie Jr., one sister, Kathryn, his in-laws, Clayton and Joan Alsteen, and grand-dog Lucas.

Visitation ONLY will be held 10:00 am until 2:00 pm Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls.  Burial, with graveside services, will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Town of Spruce.
