Colleen M. Bigelow

Colleen M. Bigelow, Oconto Falls, was born July 29, 1943 in Milwaukee to Russell and Bernice (Henne) Mansteen.  When she was 13 years old, Colleen moved to Oconto Falls where she graduated with the class of 1961.

On May 18, 1963 she married Paul Bigelow at Grace Lutheran Church and they had two children.  Paul and Colleen raised their family in Oconto Falls where she worked at the West Side Mart and later Witt’s Piggly Wiggly.  She also volunteered with the hospital auxiliary.  Colleen was an avid reader who enjoyed word puzzles, dog sitting Axle, and going out to eat with family and friends.

Colleen is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Al) Korpi, Oconto Falls; son, Jeff Bigelow, Phoenix, AZ; grandson, Trevor Korpi (Jamie Lentz, Riley), Suamico; granddaughter, McKenzie (Tyler) Coopman, Oconto Falls; one brother, Bruce (Reggie) Mansteen; one sister, Marleen Ehricke; one sister-in-law, Judy (Gary) Rosenberg; ; niece, Jamee (Richard) Faucett; nephws, Chad (Vicki) Rosenberg, Troy (Mindy) Rosenberg, Jore (Jamie) Faucett;  numerous great nieces and nephews, many close cousins and friends, and one special uncle, Jr. Henne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, and in-laws, Ward “Jibbs” and Clarice Bigelow.

The family would like to thank the many relatives and friends who visited during the final weeks, as well as the dialysis center, Meadowbrook, and Unity Hospice for their compassionate care.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Per Colleen’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held.
