Claudette Prenger, 83, Suamico, died Friday morning, December 2, 2022 at a Green Bay hospital following a short illness. The second oldest of five children was born January 30, 1939 in Oconto Falls to Thomas C. and Mary (Padden) Tait Sr. Claudette attended St. Anthony Elementary School and graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1957. Following one year at St. Norbert College in DePere, she transferred to St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester, MN and graduated as an RN. Claudette enjoyed a 35 year long and rewarding career in nursing at Baylor University in Dallas, TX. Traveling was her passion having been to India, Japan and most of Europe. While at home, she made blankets for the Linus Organization and enjoyed water aerobics at the community pool. On June 19, 1965 she married Steve Prenger at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. The couple spent most of their married lives in Arlington, TX until returning to Wisconsin in 2015.
Survivors are two siblings, Mary Miller, Green Bay; Thomas C. (Jane) Tait Jr., Rhinelander; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb Tait, Sheboygan; Thomas (Sallye) Prenger, Spokane, WA; Marilyn (Han) Keevan, Jefferson City, MO; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years Steve, on May 18, 2022, one sister, Jeanne O’Harrow, one brother, John Tait and niece Patti Rentmeester.
Private family services will take place at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
